Busyness of Life!!

You know you are a busy man, When you don't have time to plan. One activity after another, How to spare some time for yourself, you just cannot infer. As they say, to get great ideas in your imagination, You should spend time in isolation. But the harder you strive for me-time, Your day gets occupied by things, that otherwise look fine. Learn to manage your time effectively, Everybody keeps saying so profoundly. Sure it's easier said than done, You keep thinking only if you get an extra hour, you will not leave anything undone. But, getting any extra time is just out of question, Hence, managing whatever time you have is the only option. And who can better know your priorities than you yourself, So, work on important things and be satisfied with oneself. ToastMasters P6 Speech

The Odyssey ------------------------ It's a Friday and I have well planned my day. Planning as they say is always required if you want to take control of your day, right? Sure, it soundddsss right. But believe me, sometimes you have to confront things that otherwise look fine. So as I was saying, it is a Friday and I have started implementing my work as per what I have planned. And everything is going soooo smoothly; I am well on track, WOW!! I feel so content and so proud of myself.   And I have planned to leave office at around 4 pm.   So that I can catch a cab at 5 pm that will drop me to Pune station.   And I have to board a train to Mumbai that will depart at 5:55 pm. Okay; I personally feel the planning was very well done from my side. I did leave office at 4 pm, reached home at 4:30 pm. Cab is booked for 5 pm. Wow; I still have half an hour to relaxxxxx, to unwinddddd. You see, once your weekend starts you start enjoying each and every free moment you get. An...

ToastMasters P5 Speech

Lessons to be learned from Moms ---------------------------------------- A very Good afternoon to all Toastmasters and guests. Wishing you all a very happy belated Mother's day. As we celebrated Mother's day last Sunday, I thought why not talk on the same context. Don't worry I am not going to give any emotional speech here. Instead this Mother's day made me think that even as grown ups, we have still so much to learn from our mothers. 1. Connect with others - Though today we are so much connected on social networking sites, but personally we are quite disconnected even with our closed ones. How often do we login to facebook to update or check status. And how often do we actually pick up phone to call some dear friend or pay a personal visit to our friends. Point to ponder upon dear Toastmasters. On the other hand, if you consider your mother, she doesn't have an account on facebook but still she is in touch with all her friends and relatives and still she is able...

ToastMasters P4 Speech

How my work-life balance got affected --------------------------------------------- So, finally I am here in Toastmasters meet standing in front of you all to give my P4 speech. It brings such an immense pleasure to me, I cannot describe. I had been on an exotic vacation to India's most beautiful state - Kerala in February end. I must say I returned quite rejuvenated. It was a trip that I'll cherish forever in my life. And finally one of my dreams of ride on a houseboat to experience serenity of the pristine backwaters of Kerala got fulfilled. I knew the fact that after I join office; I’ll get busy for a couple of weeks. Hence, I had planned to take a break from Toastmasters for some weeks. But I was absolutely unsure these 2-3 weeks will get elongated to 2-3 months. The more I tried to get things in place, the more it got delayed. It reminds me of one article by Robin Sharma that says sometimes no matter how hard you try, things just don't work out. It is this time t...

Stay Healthy Health is the crown on the well man's head that only the ill person can see. Dear Toastmasters and guests, today I am going to talk about most important asset of our life – our Health. In other words, I am going to give ‘Healthy speech’ today. “Health is Wealth”, we have been hearing this cliché since our school days. As we grow, we do pay enough attention on generating wealth but in the process we take our health for granted as a result we feel sick and we have no choice left but to spend earned wealth to regain lost health. Hence, today I am going to share with you some steps for your most valuable asset i.e. your health. As they say, true happiness lies first of all in – HEALTH!! Here it goes: 1.        Invest in yourself: We think so much when it comes to spending on our health. On looking at pamphlet of a gym for charges we feel – 10,000 bucks for the entire year, that’s way too much, no, I don’t think it’s worth it. That’s abso...
