Revolution 2020 - Review

Just turned last page of book 'Revolution 2020' by Chetan Bhagat. Though I didn't get good reviews of book, I still planned to read it. Having read all former books of Chetan Bhagat, I just couldn't think of not reading it. I remember the moment when I asked my librarian about this book; the reply she gave me was "It's a stupid triangle love story". Yes, it's a triangle love story. But not stupid I must say. But little sad. Hero of the story is left alone in the end. It's basically a story of 3 childhood friends from Varanasi; as you must have guessed it - 2 boys and 1 girl. Both crazy for same girl - Aarti. As always Chetan continues to mention girl's dresses and her accessories in a very very detailed manner ;) Raghav following his dream of becoming journalist and trying to bring revolution is his country. And the other boy - Gopal; not so good in studies. Could not fulfill his dad's dream of joining IIT. Failed to clear AIEEE/...

Tuesdays with Morrie - Review

Million Thanks to Robin Sharma for mentioning this book in his writings - the only reason I planned to read this book. Must say, have enjoyed every bit of it. It is the book that made me cry, it is the book which refreshed memories of my late Grandmother. Beauty of this book lays in the fact that it makes you realize importance of things you normally tend to avoid to in your daily life. Things you might feel guilty for when you are dying. This is the book that made me realize it’s not the material gains that will matter in the end, the only thing will matter is love you have gained. And it is not going to come automatically, you have to love others, value others, listen others, help others. As Morrie used to say "Love each other, or perish" :) Beautiful. It's only love that'll last. World might end, you, I will die but LOVE will always remain. I truly wish I had a professor like Morrie in my life, but I am still grateful to read this book. Do read this book once an...

IT Industry - A blessing or a curse?

What a feeling friday evening brings to minds of all software engineers. They know they have 2 days to relax; to use brains for activities they love. This week I am trying to understand state of my mind during week days. Even after going back to home in evening, my mind keep wandering around thoughts of work related activities, and I have to try hard to relax. But believe me, it's not so easy. And I really feel angry sometimes, that's why yesterday I went out for cycling to distract myself from work related thoughts. Of course, it helped me, I felt at peace. But do I have to do this daily, will my mental state remain same until I get out of this industry. Even if I think in that direction, who will pay me such a good remuneration. Will pursuing a hobby reap these benefits. Not immediately I am sure. And it has its own risks. Today one of my colleague told me that one guy died of brain hammerage in zensar. This is so unfortunate, where IT industry is changing living st...

A Saturday Morning

Come Friday evening, we feel so relaxed, too many thoughts go through our mind for 2 days weekend. So here I was, another saturday morning in Magarpatta. I had to get up at 6:15 am as daily to attend Aerobics class at 7 am by one very good instructor. I felt very lazy to get up that day, but still I pushed myself, got in my gym attire. And there I was, at gym at ~7:30 am, yes half an hour late :( but to my disappointment, our instructor didn't turn up today. I started thinking, what should I do, should I workout at gym or should I go for a walk. Finally I decided, since I have come to gym, lets utilise it. Sweated out hard for next 1 hour. Apart from that, I did one very good thing today. My cycle which I have ignored since many many months, I cleaned it properly, filled air in it. And went out for cycling in Magarpatta. What an experience that was. Me, my cycle, music in my playlist and "clean and green" magarpatta. I enjoyed this half an hour ride a lot. Tri...
